Passed away peacefully on 4 October 2026 in Waikanae, aged 84 years.
Beloved husband of the late Leigh.
Loved father and father-in-law of Carey and Jo, Brent and Jeanette, Belinda and Simon, and Richard and Heidi.
Adored grandfather of Olivia, Sophie, Mollie, Jackson, Georgia, Amelia, Flynn, Courtney, Charlotte, Zavier and Maxtyn.
A service to celebrate Phil’s life will be held at 485 Grays Road, Pauatahanui, on Friday 9 October 2026 at 3:00pm. All welcome.

Phil, was a great friend to me, business mentor, yachting mate, three off shore and numerous coastal trips. I had the good fortune of spending time with Phil when he was recuperating at Kenepuru Hospital. Bruce Gault, Murray Bridge and I smuggled a large bottle of rum and coke into the ward, we reminisced, laughed till we cried, he was happy. I will treasure that time along with many others. Fair winds my friend you were a great mate, John. P.S. I am unable to attend today.
