Will miss you Kay you awesome lady with fab stories to tell. I know Frankston will miss you so much as he’s such a character as we always talked about every time I walked him it was always a story to tell you great lady rest easy on your next journey. 😥 My thought with all your family ❤️ 💔
Jim and I were very saddened to hear of Kay’s passing. She was a wonderful presence in our children’s (James and Penny) early years at the Paraparaumu Primary School with our kids being best friends with hers. That wonderful infectious laugh, her great hair and her welcoming hospitality in her home are great memories. Then we worked together at the radio station, 2XX – good times and lots of laughs. I am sorry and sad we did not see one another much in the intervening years.
Our condolences and hugs to Matthew, Ben, Kate and Bridget and their families.
Rest Well Kay.

I’m shocked to learn of Kay’s passing just a few minutes ago. I have been away and feel awful that I sent a text message to Kay’s cellphone yesterday about postponing my piano lesson until after the school holidays.
Kay was my wonderfully encouraging piano teacher after I retired. I hadn’t played for 52 years but Kay really supported my aspirations and love of jazz/blues and she didn’t make me play scales – although that was gently encouraged! She also encouraged me with music theory – now plodding through Trinity College grade 5. Kay was my friend and not only my music teacher. I will continue learning the piano in her honour.
I am thinking of all the family whom I don’t know. I would have attended the celebration of Kay’s life if I had not been away.
Rest in peace Kay
Wendy
