WHEWELL, Doreen Margaret 09.02.1928 – 20.08.2023 Peacefully at Parkwood Lodge, Waikanae surrounded by family. Cherished wife of the late Ron. Much loved mum of Isobel & Mike, William & Barbara, Rosemary & Iain; and Nanna of Laura, Erin, Ivan, Jen, Max, Louisa, Merryn, Ellen & Fiona. Keen Reader, traveller, gardener, she enjoyed participation in many community organisations. She was a welcoming nana to her 9 grandchildren, who always had baking and home-made lemon squash! Our thanks to the staff at Parkwood and the Lodge for their loving care of Doreen, especially over the last few years. A memorial event is planned to be held at Cedarwood, 17 Parata Street, Waikanae, on Friday 22nd September 2023, at 10.30am.
