BLIGHT, Margaret Irene (née Furness):
Margaret passed away on Sunday, 23rd March 2025, at Charles Fleming Retirement Village, Waikanae.
Loved wife of the late Edward (Ted) Blight. Sister to Betty & Robert Goddard and Judith O’Hagan. Loved Aunty Margy of Tony (Dec), Rachel & Tony, Neroli & Karl, Christopher & Donna and Stephanie & Lance. Great Aunt to Jaden, Hayley, Kirsten, Sophie and Ella.
She will be sadly missed.

A service for Margaret will be held at Cedarwood, 17 Parata Street, Waikanae on Thursday, 27th March, at 11:00am.

Marg and I were good friends all our Bible Class days and she and I went to Australia for our big OE! We had all sorts of jobs in various places including waitressing at a pop concert in Surfer’s Paradise, picking strawberries at Red Beach, going by boat to Perth with some of the strawberry pickers and living there in a tiny flat where we shared a double bed and had to buy ice for the ice box each week. Then we spent months up in the Kosiusco Mountain Park at a motel in Wilson’s Valley. It was a fabulous time and I have lots of fun memories of Marg which her death has brought to mind. So sorry to hear she has gone and my thoughts are with you all as you too remember her
