Thurston, Douglas Carr, Peacefully at home in Waikanae on 30 December 2018, aged 84.  Beloved husband of the late Rosemary and loving father of Mary and James.  Father-in-law to Anna and much loved Grandad Doug to Cleo, William, Joseph and Cedric.  Cherished son of Douglas and Rita Thurston, and brother of Jacqueline Wilson.  Gentleman and friend to many, in a life lived to the full.  Requiem Mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday 8 January 2019 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 29 Parata Street, Waikanae. We welcome donations in lieu of flowers to Cancer Society NZ and the Aphasia New Zealand Charitable Trust.
